Boosting your imm(uni)ty
Although fresher's flu season has come to an end (you're safe till next year) winter's cold and flu season is fast approaching. Everyone wants to play hard, but when it takes it's toll on your body, you can no longer work hard.

This blog post will help you to prime your body so you can glide through the semester without so much as a sniffle. Here are my top three health hacks to staying on track
TIP NUMBER 1: ECHINICEA

Also known as the 'purple coneflower' this is one of nature's prettiest solutions to fighting colds. This remedy should be taken at the first sight of symptoms until they fully clear. Although this medicine may seem pricy retailing at £9.99 (30 capsules) in Holland and Barrett it sure is effective! This medicine increases your number of white blood cells that can fight viruses-- Just be careful not to take too much or the medicine will lose it's power.
TIP NUMBER 2: VITAMIN C

Vitamin C is POPULAR and can be obtained naturally (through citrus fruits) but it is also readily available in both tablet and fizzy capsule form at most supermarkets. This is budget friendly and can be taken daily as a preventative measure. Vitamin C is an antioxidant-- what the body uses to fight viruses.
TIP NUMBER 3: GINGER

Okay so there's no doubt about it this stuff looks a bit suspect, but when used correctly, ginger can do magic things to your body (and it doesn't taste all that bad either). Not only will ginger support the immune system but it is also anti inflammatory and serves as a natural blood thinner. Nobody wants fat blood now do they?? You can get your daily dose of ginger by adding it to your food (soups, curries or oatmeal). It also tastes great in green tea or can be added to baked goods (calling all GBBO fans).
That's all for now! Stay tuned for my next blog tackling how to grow long hair.
